Our People

2010 has been a significant year for Byron Beans. We have always grown our coffee, but this year we purchased a new roaster and have grown to become a company with all of the means for coffee production, from the plant to the cup. We are thrilled to be roasting our own coffee. This guarantees our requirements for freshness and quality will be met.

Natalie has taken on the challenge of roasting. You might have met her at some of the local markets where she proudly sells our coffee. All six children, myself included, get excited about the business, and everyone helps out in one way or another. Lending a hand on the farm, or at our stall at one of the markets, hulling the coffee, or helping out with the roasting, we're all involved- it's very much a family business.

That said, as the business and its requirements expand, so too does the family. Working for Dad at the growing end is Doug Ogilvy and his team, committed to quality from the very start of the coffee's journey to your cup.

Our people, however, aren't just those involved in production. Our loyal customers swear by Byron Beans. Across the country we've cultivated a name synonymous with quality. You can find Byron Beans people in cafes everywhere. We extend an invitation to you, to become a part of our family of passionate coffee drinkers.

- James King,

2nd generation Byron Beans.

"I am sure that you have heard this many times before but allow me to repeat it for myself: this morning Diane and I had our first cup of plunger coffee made with your beans and, truthfully, it was the best cup I think I've ever tasted! I will buy all my beans from you so you have a lifelong customer here in West Australia"
